SCORES INJURED IN CLASHES AS PALESTINIANS RETURN TO TEMPLE MOUNT:
At least 113 people were injured in the Old City of Jerusalem on Thurs 27 July 2017, shortly after Muslim worshipers returned to the Temple Mount following a nearly two-week ban by Muslim authorities on prayer at the holy site. Riots broke out within minutes as thousands of Muslims flooded the Temple Mount, attacking police officers who responded with crowd-control measures including tear gas, shock grenades, and rubber bullets. According to the police, security teams will respond "forcefully" to any disorderly behavior and attempt to harm Israeli security forces and citizens. Palestinian worshipers crowded onto the Temple Mount to pray at the al-Aksa mosque to celebrate the removal of all security measures installed at the site since two Israeli policemen were murdered there by three Arab-Israeli men two weeks ago. Earlier Thurs. the Mufti of Jerusalem Mohammed Hussein announced that Muslims could return to pray at the holy place for the first time since they refused to enter after the Israeli authorities placed metal detectors and security cameras at the entrances to the Temple Mount to secure police personnel and non-Muslim visitors at the site.
Amid high security in the Old City, thousands of Muslim worshipers attended Friday prayers on July 28 2017. Entrance to the Temple Mount compound was limited to men aged 50 and older and all women. While the situation in the Old City remained mostly under control, the Palestinians who gathered to pray expressed their anger in the current situation. They warned that the conflict is not yet over and that they were upset about the age limit set for entering the Temple Mount on Friday, as well as the ongoing "occupation" of Temple Mount by Israel and Israeli security forces. Under international arrangements of the Temple Mount, Israel is responsible for the holy site’s security. (J.Post/Fox)
NETANYAHU SAYS KILLER OF THREE FAMILY MEMBERS SHOULD BE EXECUTED:
PM Netanyahu this week paid a visit to the Salomon family who lost three family members in a brutal terrorist attack on Friday 21 July 2017, in their home in Halamish and told them he believed the killer deserves to be executed. "It is time to implement the death penalty for terrorists," Netanyahu said to the family. "It is already in the law book, requiring a unanimous decision by the judges. My position as prime minister is that in this case, with such a loathsome killer, he needs to be executed. Simple. So that he doesn't smile anymore." Netanyahu was referring to the testimony of Tova Salomon who said the terrorist Omar al-Abed smiled before he started stabbing her and family members.(J.Post)
MURDEROUS PALESTINIAN MATH:
Palestinian terrorist, Omar al-Abed murdered three Jews on Friday night 21 July 2017. This means he will almost certainly be sentenced to more than 30 years in prison. According to the Palestinian Authority compensation law, this entitles him to $3,364 each month, four times what the average Palestinian earns. That's $40,368 a year, or $1,211,040 for 30 years. Imagine there was a government-sponsored program in America that paid you a million bucks every time you murdered members of another ethnic group. In 2016, 11% of the PA's budget - $500 million - came from the USA. (Tablet)
ISRAEL WELCOMES TRUMP COMMENTS SLAMMING HEZBOLLAH:
Israel on Wed. 26 July 2017 welcomed USA President Trump’s tough talk on the Hezbollah terrorist group the day earlier. Intelligence Minister Israel Katz praised the president for saying that the organization poses a threat to both Lebanon and the region. Katz said that with Iran’s assistance, “Hezbollah has fueled the humanitarian disaster in Syria, and the organization likes to portray itself as the defender of Lebanon while in fact it is very clear that its true interests are those of itself and of its patron, Iran.” Katz welcomed bills being advanced in Congress to increase pressure on Hezbollah by imposing sanctions on banks and other institutions that work with the group, thereby impeding its ability to raise funds. On 24 July 2017 Trump characterized Hezbollah as a “menace to the Lebanese state, the Lebanese people, and the entire region. The group continues to increase its military arsenal, which threatens to start yet another conflict with Israel, constantly fighting them back.” Trump noted that the group is “fueling the humanitarian catastrophe” in Syria. Trump said that had former president Barack Obama enforced his red line and taken action against Syria when Bashar Assad used chemical weapons in 2013, “I don’t believe you’d have Russia and I don’t believe you’d have Iran to anywhere near the extent, and maybe not at all, in Syria today.” (J.Post)

CST Chief Executive David Delew said that it is "sadly clear that the overall situation has deteriorated. Anti-Semitism is having an increasing impact on the lives of British Jews." (JTA)

ISRAEL’S HEALTH SYSTEM RANKS AS ONE OF THE BEST GLOBALLY:
A recent study ranked Israel's health care system as the ninth-best in the world, the UK's Business Insider reported. The research, conducted by the London-based Legatum Institute listed three basic components of health: availability of preventive care, health infrastructure, and citizens' physical and mental health. 149 countries were included in the comparison, with Israel listed in the top ten. Israel received the highest health rating in the Middle East, and its citizens have a life expectancy of 82.5 years - eighth highest in the world. The country's single-payer, multiple-provider system ensures that every citizen receives health coverage, yet insurance providers must compete in order to draw clients and receive funding. In Jan. 2016, Israel ranked as the world's eighth most powerful country, and in May of that year, the country's average life expectancy was declared fifth highest in the world. In June 2016, two of Israel's universities ranked in Asia's top 20, and six made the top 200. Earlier this year, Israel ranked fourth in the list of best countries for expats. (INN)
EXPERTS UNCOVER EVIDENCE OF ANCIENT JERUSALEM’S DESTRUCTION BY BABYLONIANS:
Archaeologists excavating the City of David in Israel have uncovered charred wood, grape seeds, pottery, fish scales and bones and numerous rare artifacts that date back to the city’s demise at the hands of the Babylonians more than 2,600 years ago. Among the findings, which depict the affluence and character of ancient Jerusalem, capital of the Judean Kingdom, were dozens of jars used to store grain and liquids. Many of them have stamped handles and seals that depict a rosette. “These seals are characteristic of the end of the First Temple Period and were used for the administrative system that developed towards the end of the Judean dynasty,” said Ortal Chalaf and Dr. Joe Uziel, excavation directors. “Classifying objects facilitated controlling, overseeing, collecting, marketing and storing crop yields. The rosette, in essence, replaced the 'For the King' seal used in the earlier administrative system." The artifacts were found under collapsed layers of stone on the eastern slope of the City of David. (Fox)
